Boys Lacrosse Wins Division II Championship

JSerra Catholic High School’s lacrosse team won the school’s first divisional title in any sport this week.

The Lions beat San Clemente High School 11-9 in a dramatic match in Irvine that wasn’t settled until the final whistle.

“The game was close, but the leaders showed up late in the game to contribute a few key defensive and offensive plays to turn the game in our favor,” said coach Mike Hutnick.

The victory came a day after JSerra’s baseball team clinched the Trinity League title. Earlier this year, JSerra’s boys soccer team clinched the school’s first-ever league title.
