JSerra Catholic High School will hand 177 well-deserved diplomas to graduating seniors on Saturday morning as family and friends cheer them on.
The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in the Pavilion, but school officials recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early to ensure good seating.
Among the Class of 2009’s accomplishments:
– More than 30,000 community service hours.
– Named to the Catholic High School Honor roll three consecutive years. JSerra is the only high school in the region to earn the top-50-in-the-nation distinction.
– First JSerra Trinity league championships. Boys soccer, baseball and lacrosse all earned league titles, with lacrosse earning the school’s first-ever divisional title.
– First seniors to attend Georgetown, Penn State and other top universities.
The class of 2009 is JSerra’s fourth graduating class. The school opened in September 2003 with 125 students.
Finally, congratulations to co-valedictorians Nicole Madro and Lexi Crommett, and salutatorian Sam Inman.
