Tim Busch is Catholic and an entrepreneur – in that order.
So begins an outstanding profile of JSerra Catholic High School’s founder. Published in the current edition of the Catholic World News, the article highlights the successes in Busch’s career that have enabled him to share and promote his Catholic faith.
“The focus of my life is getting myself to heaven and to help others get there, too,” Busch told the magazine. “And, that should be the focus of everyone else’s life as well.”
Written by local writer Jim Graves, the three-page feature story details Busch’s childhood in Michigan and his successful law practice.
It also tells the story of why he and his wife, Steph, decided to found St. Anne’s School in Laguna Niguel – and later JSerra Catholic High School.
“JSerra has strong academic credentials, as well as competitive sports programs,” the article says. “And, most importantly, JSerra is solidly Roman Catholic. Its staff includes several Norbertine priests from St. Michael’s Abbey in Silverado, known for its orthodoxy.”
Busch says the Catholic identity of both schools is of paramount importance.
“If your kids finish school and don’t have the faith, they leave with nothing,” he said. “The faith is the most important thing they can have to guide them through their lives.”
