Lions Soccer Ranked No. 1 in Orange County, No. 5 in the Nation

Last Year's Trinity League Champions
It was a play that changed a game, a moment that showed why JSerra is the best boys soccer team in the county, begins a story in today’s Orange County Register.

“The Lion’s Dylan Seedman dribbled down the right side of the field, weaving his way through Servite’s tough and talented group of defenders, stopping when he reached the box,” says the story, written by the newspaper’s talented prep writer, Damian Dottore. “He had an open shot on this chilly winter afternoon last season, but instead of taking it, he delivered a perfect cross to Juan Gutierrez. And with one touch, he broke a scoreless tie.”

The story highlights the many reasons JSerra is ranked as Orange County’s preseason No. 1. Among them: the strike duo of Seedman, Gutierrez; the return of national-team player Jonathan Canales and “tenacious” defender Frankie Bastone.

“But it’s their teamwork that sets them apart,” Dottore writes.

The accolades don’t end with today’s Register article. ESPN ranked the Lions No. 5 in the nation.
