JSerra Partners with Free the Kids and Mission Parish in Haiti Relief Efforts

By Amanda Samaan & Tom Jaso

Sunday, March 7th, Mission Parish will be hosting its regular Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast with a special cause on the side.

This year JSerra will partner with Mission Parish and Father Marc Boisvert, founder of Pwoje Espwa: Free the Kids, as we raise funds and awareness for the homeless, hunger-stricken children in Haiti. Pwoje Espwa means “Project Hope,” and is the name chosen by the children Fr. Marc and Free the Kids house, feed, and teach.

Fr. Marc founded the orphanage over a decade ago. A short-term trip became a lifetime commitment, fueled by his heartfelt desire to help children in a more permanent setting. Free the Kids provides Haitian children with clothing, education, jobs, and a place to call home. Fr. Marc’s goal is to give each child a future and a chance at a better life. The recent, devastating earthquake has made his task much more difficult.

Through Mission Parish’s Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast everyone is offered a chance to impact the life of a child in Haiti by donating funds to the Free the Kids organization.
