JSerra’s Cheer and Song teams earned a handful of top awards this weekend during a regional competition at Arcadia High School.

The honors early Saturday morning included JV Cheer Squad competing in a division with five teams, and taking the title of 1st place.

One member of our Varsity Cheer team had a painful ankle injury during the beginning of the routine, but she stuck it out, and our Varsity Cheer squad took 2nd place in a division of 10 teams.

As a school, with combined spirit and scores, our cheerleaders took home the “Overall Spirit” award. And later in the day, our Varsity Song competed in a division including eight teams and won 1st place.

In addition, our song leaders won “Best Overall Pom” and the “Showmanship” award. Our teams competed against other schools that have been competing all year. As first-time competitors, our JSerra squads represented our school exceptionally well.

Determination along with supportive parents and coaches led our squads to victory.
