The 7-year-old JSerra Catholic High School is still the new kid on the block.
Its athletic program is even newer as it enters the fourth year of league play.
The school took on what has been called the toughest league in the United States — the Trinity League. Only three years into the league, the school walked away with three league championships: boys’ baseball, lacrosse and soccer.
On March 6, JSerra’s Lions varsity soccer team won its first CIF title in a team sport, beating Harvard Westlake 2-1 in the CIF Division I playoff game in Downey.
