Student Artwork to Be Featured At Huntington Beach Art Gallery

Congratulations to Grant Davis, Ian Fleming, Erika Philbrick, Alex Sobeiraj, and Ashley Timmermann. Their photos have been judged and selected to be shown during the county wide “Imagination Celebration” art show at the Huntington Beach Art Gallery during the month of May. Their teachers Jim Harrell and Regina Stehney deserve a congratulations as well!

Imagination Celebration is an annual festival of the arts, celebrating creativity for all people of Orange County. This festival is presented by Arts Orange County and Orange County Department of Education. It includes performances and visual arts exhibits throughout Orange County, as well as hands on workshops. This year’s theme is Imagination Opens the Door!

The visual arts exhibits include 7 district-wide shows:

1. 1,000 Pieces of Art – South Coast Plaza – Crate and Barrel. 100 artworks selected for exhibit from each grade level from both public and private schools in Orange County.

2. All District Art Show – South Coast Plaza – Crate and Barrel. Representing selected student artwork from all participating districts in Orange County.

3. Very Special Arts Festival- Westfield Main Place Mall. Celebrating the artistic accomplishments of students with disabilities.

4. Three Dimensional Art Show- Irvine Fine Arts Center. Includes Sculpture, Jewelry, and Ceramics.

5. Photography, Multi Media Art Show- Huntington Beach Fine Arts Center. Includes traditional and digital photography, video and multi-media.

6. Color It Orange- Laguna College of Art and Design. An annual juried youth art exhibit of Orange County Schools.

7. Festival of the Arts of Laguna Beach- Junior Art Exhibit. Top ten student artists from each grade level, including special ed, are selected from the above shows for display at the Festival of the Arts of Laguna Beach, Junior Art Exhibit, during the summer of 2010.

JSerra will also be entering students in the two dimensional category, so check back in late April for information on which students will have their artwork featured at South Coast Plaza.
