JSerra Junior Alex Berman has been volunteering with the Community Emergency Relief Team, or CERT, since last summer. Berman will be applying to West Point Academy and the Naval Academy at Annapolis next fall, and he knows his work with CERT will look great on his resume. He also knows that the work he is doing now will teach him volumes about a life of service. Additionally, as reported on April 29, Alex will serve JSerra as ASB president. He is also involved in choir, track, and cross country.
JSerra Catholic High School announced today that Michele Anne Ramirez, a financial executive with more than 20 years’ experience, will fill the newly created position of Chief Financial Officer.
“We are pleased to add an executive with Michele’s financial experience and passion for Catholic education to our senior management team,” CEO Frank Talarico said. “This is another important milestone as we take our place as one of Southern California’s finest private high schools.”
Ramirez’s broad work experience ranges from consulting on Advanced Medical Optics, Inc.’s $800 million acquisition of Intralase to directing strategic financial operations for Apria Healthcare, Inc. to serving as a financial resource manager for Hines Horticulture in Irvine.
She said she is excited about working in Catholic education – a passion of hers. Her family was among the original Serra Catholic School families, and she and her husband served as co-presidents of Santa Margarita Catholic High School’s boys’ volleyball booster club.
“It is a privilege to lead JSerra’s financial team and contribute to the growth of an organization centered in my faith tradition,” she said.
