Photography Club President Makes a Flash in Orange County

Ian Farrell of JSerra Catholic High school a winner chosen by the Laguna Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach for the Junior Art Exhibit. It is a tremendous honor to have our student’s photography chosen to be displayed at the Laguna Festival.

The festival grounds are host to thousands of visitors each day during the summer months of July and August. Ian’s portrait was chosen from over 3,000 students art work that was submitted for critic in the Imagination celebration this month.

Ian was chosen as Photography Club President by his fellow students for his outstanding skill and creativity. Ian is a master at traditional film photography, “the images seem sharper.” Farrell states. Ian’s work is traditional Black and white photography and chooses not to edit his work. “I want my work to be viewed as natural and simple, but complex in meaning.”

This talented senior also has two other works showing at the Huntington Beach Gallery in the Imagination celebration.

Ian also received over one hundred dollars worth of prizes for his work entered an international contest hosted by Photo Imaging Education Association.

“It has been an honor to be JSerra’s first photography club president. There is so much talent at JSerra in photography I hope the club continues to submit work to competitions. There is so much to be accomplished in photography.”
