JSerra Choir Heads to Italy

The JSerra Chamber Choir is excited to announce that we are in the process of making our final arrangements for our upcoming trip to Rome, Italy this coming April.

Our choir has been granted the esteemed honor of singing for Pope Benedict XVI and has been busy learning new music for this once in a lifetime performance.

The ten day trip will include an audience with the Pontiff as well as a religious pilgrimage of the Vatican and surrounding cities. As part of the itinerary the choir will participate in several formal concerts and will perform in at least four High Masses in cities such as Florence, Assisi, and St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Fr. Vincent Gilmore will accompany the choir on the trip and share his intimate knowledge of this amazing city.

Other highlights of the trip include visits to the Accademia Museum in Florence, a private tour of Norbertine House in Rome, a tour of the Mamertime Prison, Catacombs of Domitilla and the Fountains of Trevi. The men and women of the choir together with their parents have already begun raising money for the trip and invite you to join us in two upcoming events.

Next Thursday, November 4th is our 1st Annual “Taste of Italy” Spaghetti Dinner and Fall Concert. The evening will include a delicious spaghetti dinner with entertainment by our award winning choirs. The event will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church in Dana Point at 6:30pm.

November 13th is the Renee Bondi Benefit Concert. If you have never heard this top selling Catholic recording artist, you are in for a real treat. Concert will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel. Tickets for both events are on sale now. You may purchase them at the cashier’s office or you can RSVP by email for the spaghetti dinner to Jennifer Fitzpatrick at irishjen38@cox.net.
