The 2010-2011 Boys Swim Team were honored at the CIF Southern Section Academic Awards ceremony Monday, May 9, 2011 at Angels Stadium with the highest team grade point average (GPA) of 3.808 for swimming in the CIF Southern Section for schools with enrollment of less than 1500.
Each year, the CIF Southern Section recognizes Southern Section teams who have excelled in academics as well as participating on an athletic team at their school. Awards were given to two schools in each of twenty-two sports based on two enrollment categories: schools with under 1500 students and schools with 1500 and over.
There are 574 schools in the Southern Section. The GPA is calculated based on official transcripts of all members of the varsity team for the first semester of the 2010-2011 school year. To be eligible the team’s compiled grade point average in all classes must be a minimum of 3.0 on an unweighted scale. The Girls Swim Team were 3rd with a compiled grade point average of 3.747.
