Betty Cappelletti Receives OC High Impact Teacher Award

JSerra teacher Betty Cappelletti was awarded the High Impact Teacher in Science, Math and Technology award last night at the 18th Annual OC High-Tech Innovation Awards. Mrs. Cappelletti works hard to provide the highest level educational experience for the students in the Pre-Medical Professional Magnet Program.

Principal Tom Waszak said “It is great to see her receive recognition from the community, especially those organizations in Technology and Science.”

This premier business event celebrates excellence and achievement in the region’s technology industry, and honors local companies, individuals, and products that drive innovation in Orange County and Inland Empire.

“This region boasts many noteworthy individuals, companies, and products that help advance the business of technology not only in Orange County but also throughout the world,” said Bob Brunson, director, TechAmerica Orange County. “This year we saw a record number of 100 nominations, including many from companies new to the competition. Austin Hedges Voted to the 2011 All-County Baseball Team

Hedges was selected Trinity League co-most valuable player for a season in which he hit .360 with 31 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, four home runs and drove in 16 runs. He also was one of the better defensive catchers in recent county history. Hedges was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the second round. He signed with UCLA.

Football recruiting: JSerra’s Williams added two Pac-12 offers

Junior, Jonavaughn Williams

Talented JSerra wide receiver/defensive back Jonavaughn Williams (6-0, 192) has picked up scholarship offers from Oregon State and Colorado, the junior reports.

Williams also has recently landed an offer from Northern Arizona.

His list of Pac-12 offer also includes Arizona State and Washington.

Williams also holds offers from Duke and San Diego State.
