UC San Diego Admissions Director Tours JSerra

UC San Diego Director of Admissions, Mae Brown and JSerra President Frank Talarico

JSerra held a special luncheon in July for Mae Brown, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Admissions and Enrollment Services, and Director of Admissions for the University of California, San Diego, to visit JSerra’s campus and get a first hand look at JSerra’s outstanding accomplishments.

At the luncheon JSerra seniors had the opportunity to sit down with Ms. Brown to talk about how to prepare and apply to college. While on campus Ms. Brown had the opportunity to see a SimMan demonstration from Innovation Teacher of the Year for Science and Math award recipient, Betty Cappelletti. Showing off SimMan’s endless functions Ms. Brown was fascinated to hear that JSerra is the only high school in the country to provide such technology to JSerra’s medical magnet students.

“Many collaborative opportunities were presented during Ms. Brown’s visit to our campus. She was exceptionally helpful and all who met her were extremely impressed by her warmth, intellect and synergistic thinking. We look forward to continuing our dialogue and hosting Ms. Brown at JSerra in the future,” said JSerra President Frank Talarico.

This is comes after Mr. Talarico’s recent trip to the East Coast to visit other fine institutions such as Harvard, MIT, Yale and Princeton.
