‘A Warriors Heart’ Starring Twilight Stars Kellen Lutz and Ashley Green to Make U.S. Premiere in San Juan Capistrano on Dec. 1

  • Film was written by high school state champion cross country coach

November 28, 2011—(San Juan Capistrano, CA)— The movie “A Warriors Heart,” starring “The Twilight Saga” actors Kellen Lutz and Ashley Green, will make its U.S. debut Dec. 1 about a mile from JSerra Catholic High School, where the script writer coaches cross country and track.

The screening, which comes a day before its national release, will be held at Regency San Juan Capistrano theater at 26762 Verdugo Street, San Juan Capistrano, at 7 p.m. To purchase your tickets visit: http://www.jserra.org/warrior.

The movie is about a star lacrosse player named Conor who is acting out following his Marine father’s death in Iraq. His mother sends him to an arduous lacrosse training camp where he learns about maturity and sportsmanship under the guidance of one of his father’s old comrades.

The screenplay was written by author and running coach Martin Dugard with help from parent Jim Yount and the school’s co-founder, Marc Spizzirri. The idea to do a screenplay started with conversations Yount and Dugard had while watching their sons play the sport at JSerra.

It’s a big week for Dugard, who coaches cross country and track. His girls cross country team on Saturday repeated as Division 4 state champion.

The movie is the first feature-length film about lacrosse.

Glee star Chord Overstreet also has a role in the film.
