JSerra and Mission Basilica Host First Annual Turkey Drive

JSerra Catholic High School announces  it’s first annual Turkey Drive, in partnership with Mission Basilica and Serra’s Pantry to help provide Thanksgiving meals for local families in need.

JSerra Catholic High School has partnered with Mission Basilica in San Juan Capistrano and Serra’s Pantry to distribute donated turkeys, hams and prime ribs to local families in need this Holiday season. The community is invited to purchase their own Thanksgiving meats through the drive and to purchase additional meats to be donated through Serra’s pantry.

Every purchase of a natural free range turkey, angus beef prime rib, or whole spiral sliced ham from JSerra Catholic High School’s Turkey Drive will help make the holiday season one to be thankful for.

JSerra Catholic, the Mission Basilica, and Serra’s goal is to have 2,000 items donated through the Turkey Drive.

“Serra’s Pantry has been serving food to the needy here in our local community for more than 20 years and our Pantry is excited to be a part this special holiday outreach effort by the JSerra school community,” said David Bordages, Serra’s Pantry Program Coordinator. “Through these donations made by the school, our Pantry will be able to serve many deserving families with a special Thanksgiving meal.”

JSerra’s boys water polo team will hand deliver the donated turkeys to families, in the community.

“Our water polo team is proud to partner with Mission Basilica and Serra’s Pantry, two organizations that are highly involved in supporting the San Juan Capistrano community,” said Paul Cruzan, JSerra boys water polo head coach. “We know these donations will help feed a lot of families”

All items are all available for purchase online now through October 17 by visiting  www.jserra.org/turkeydrive.

Pick up for purchased items will be held Saturday, November 17 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the JSerra Athletics Pavilion. If items are purchased as a donation, no pick up is necessary.  Turkey Drive Flyer Final
