JSerra Students Honored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation

Junior Chloe Kempf has been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), having scored over a 201 on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test in 2009. She is among the 50,000 highest scoring participants from some 1.5 million applicants.

Of the more than 50,000 students recognized by NMSC, about 16,000 will be named as semi-finalists, while the remaining 34,000 high scorers will be commended by NMSC. Semifinalists will have the opportunity to continue in the competition for about 8,200 National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2011. Semifinalists will be announced in September.

Congratulations to Chloe for her outstanding achievement, as well as to senior Nick Stropko who is a finalist in this year’s competition.
