Congratulations to our five Visual Arts students that were winners at the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts Junior Art Show. JSerra’s five shining students, Quetzal Arevelo, Megan Lasken, Nicole Kurrasch, Shane Noviello and May Han were among the 13 student winners for the show. The student’s artwork was chosen from a field of thousands of entrants from schools across the county.

JSerra CHS Blog_Festival of ArtsThe Junior Art Show has been around since 1947 and has become a highlight to the summer event. It displays work from over 300 students, grades K-12, and keeps the importance and value of the arts alive in our youth.

Hundreds of family members and friends gathered at the festival art grounds to congratulate and acknowledge the recipients of the Junior Art Awards. Our students did an amazing job representing their artwork and JSerra.

JSerra Students Win Pageant of the Masters Junior Art Contest

photo%201-1Congratulations to the Visual Arts students that were juried into the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts Junior Art Show. Our three students that made the show were sophomores Ethan Worden, Megan Lasken and senior Noah Mudd.
We also congratulate Noah Mudd for winning first place in his junior division/category.
” I am so proud of the hard work these students put in to winn this prestigious award”, said  Nancy Harrell, Artist In Residence Director. The Festival runs through the end of August to view all the great work.

Imagination Celebration Art Show Recognizes JSerra Students

Danny Razano is one of 10 sophomores countywide to be featured in Laguna Beach art shows this summer.
Congratulations are in order for several of JSerra’s outstanding art students. Their artwork has been chosen to be displayed at South Coast Plaza for the month of May for the county wide art show Imagination Celebration. Our students were chosen from a field of 6,500 entrants from schools all over the county. The 1,000 winners from grades K through 12 will be displayed in the Crate and Barrel Mall in South Coast Plaza May 3-26. A reception will be held on Saturday, May 8 at 12:30 for all students, families and interested individuals.

These students are Katie Cascino, Meghan Celentano, Connor Dugard, Daniel Early, Jenae McDonald, Daniel Razzano, and Maddie Renezeder.

The work is also juried down to the top 10 students in each grade countywide, and the chosen students’ work will be displayed at the Laguna Beach Art Festival and Pageant of the Masters from July 3 through August 30. We are proud to announce that Danny Razzano was chosen to represent JSerra in the sophomore category.

OC Register: JSerra Student Transforms Into ‘Morning’

For the past three years, Chandler Nason has posed as living art at the popular Laguna Beach Pageant of the Masters.

This year, she is the living picture of Maxfield Parrish’s 1922 oil on canvas painting “Morning.” And her image graces the cover of the 75-year-old pageant’s program.
