The varsity Lions hosted rival Santa Margarita Catholic High School in anything but a lack-luster night.
A car raffle, electrifying half-time shows, Father Damien parting the sea of students, and an epic win over the Eagles made for a night to remember.
Kyle Ingram started the game with a two-point field goal against the Eagles, while Jamal Aytes, who was fouled by Santa Margarita, made back-to-back free throws to end the first quarter.
The Lions went on to score 16 points in the second with the Eagles scoring 10.
JSerra’s half-time was a show stopper with a pep squad performance, and former Laker star Mychal Thompson drawing the winner of the 2012 Toyota Scion TC, JSerra parent James T. Also, raffled were two basketballs autographed by Thompson.
During the second half the Lions scored another 33 points to take the win over the Eagles in a 60-44 game.
Special thank you to our sponsors, Penske Toyota of Rancho Santa Margarita, COX 3, and Mychal Thompson.
